It's often been compared to Australian dairy for the wining spot of yummy dun nai. Personally I prefer yee shun better!
Now close your eyes and prepare yourself for the world's best melt in your mouth, soft like toufu dun nai.
Be transported to Lala land.
It's not cheap at hkd30 (about sgd$5) but well worth the treat!
I ordered the one with ginger.
I slurped it all up and well, scalded my tongue in exchange for the gluttony!
Be careful, it's hot!
Lovely rows and rows of desert to satisfy hungry shoppers @ causeway bay. They serve simple Hk treats like sandwiches and chicken wing as well.
A simple but delightful treat! :)
I love you dun nai (炖奶). Just found this receipe to make online. Is it fattening? Oops, I think so!
Ingredients:
3/4 cup cream
2 tablespoons sugar
1 tablespoon ginger, sliced thinly
¾ cup milk
2 egg whites
Method:
Bring cream, sugar and ginger to a boil, stirring gently.
Remove from heat and stir in milk till just lukewarm – about 50 degrees Celsius to 55 degrees Celsius.
Whisk in the egg whites vigorously.
Strain into 4 2 ounce ramekins.
Steam for 20-24 minutes.
It will be very jiggly.
Either eat warm or chill and serve cold (it’s slightly firmer once chilled).
