Hong Kong delicious Chinese Xiao long bao at shanghai Lao Lao modern setting and is not ding tai fung

Where can you eat Xiao long bao in a nice ambience at a reasonable price?

I dare say the Xiao long bao here is as good or even better than ding tai fung!
(I probably should be a bit more patriotic since ding tai fung is under Singapore's bread talk. But it's my stomach and pocket that we are talking about here.) so I shall remain objective.

Check out the front of the restaurant.
Looks impressive? Read on.

Looks atas, but at a good price. The total bill came up less than what we usually chalk up in ding tai fung.

Pic of the modern clean lines and nice brown furniture setting.

And of course the main star! I didn't count the number of pleats on the Xiao long bao. Was too busy tucking in. Tru sell the spicy noodles, very much like crystal jade!

Be careful when eating. Don't waste the juice! (I had to caution u as I accidentally poked it. Much to the ire of C!)

Prawns with tea leaves anyone?

The rest of our dishes...
Lovely ma po toufu to pour over rice.

U know the "zup" tastes so good to "lum" over your rice? (Wonder if anyone understood my splatter of.. Is that dialect or singlish?)

The bill?

Barely a dent at hkd307! That's like sgd$50? No further charges.

For a meal like this, it will typically cost sgd$70, due to all the 10% and 7% taxes!

Here's the receipt to help u in your order!
