Hong Kong : dao heung serves delectable dim sum in wanchai

This is where the locals enjoy coming for good and affordable dim sum, in a nice ambience to boot! It's located above lei garden at CNT tower. Address below.

They have a few branches. I will be covering the one in wan chai today. It's in between wan chai and causeway bay, but wan chai station will still be most convenient. It's about a 12mins walk from the wan chai mtr station.

Tao Heung, 2/F, CNT Tower, 338 Hennessy Rd., Wan Chai, Hong Kong, Hong Kong

Nice walk up one floor to whet your appetite.

The ambience. A busy and chatty environment.

Must take the xo sauce. It's to die for.

The xo carrot cake and fabulous Siew Mai with big juicy succulent prawn on top of each Siew Mai.

The soup broth is also thick and sedap! Comes with dumplings and mushroom.

An important tip. If you're here for tea time, 2+pm will be a good time. Don't wait till 3.30pm! We whizzed in late at 3+pm. I thought we were very smart since usually there's a long queue and we had to wait outside with a machine issued queue number. The machine typically asks if you are ok with sharing table. Of course the queue would move faster if you share table. It's a very common thing to share table with strangers while dining.

Anyway, once we got our seat, we happily ordered. Was happy to see durian Liu sha bao too. Usually we only get the yellow custard kind yea. How innovative. So affordable too.

Then we got a shock when the waitress informed us that they have to close their cashier and kitchen has stopped at 4pm. So, no more food. Was only at 50% capacity. So sad, since the food was so good.

Oh well, yet another reason to go back then.

Lesson learnt.
